Mother's Day All Wrapped Up

>> Thursday, May 5, 2011

Mother's Day is always a special day. One of my favorite things about the day is the beautiful handmade gifts my youngest children bring home from school. They are always so proud of their special gifts and have a hard time waiting for Sunday to arrive. I've gotten more than my share of early Mother's Day gifts, just because they cannot wait to share.

They joy of giving and receiving handmade items doesn't end with childhood. My Mother-in-Law always loves receiving things I've made just for her and my precious mother did as well.

Whether you buy a gift this year or make one yourself, you can still make it extra special by creating a lovely personalized gift tag and some patterned paper gift bows. They are a great way to use up some patterned paper scraps and say you care.

These bows are created with 3 - 3/4"x10" strips of patterned paper, 2-3/4"x9" strips and one 3/4"x4" strip. The strips are twisted into figure 8 style swirls, stapled and then stacked together. One bow uses the Stationery line and the other paper from the Happily Lost line. I love how well they work together!

The tag is created with layers of patterned paper, stickers and embellishments. The beautiful mother & daughter stamps from the This & That line works so perfectly for Mother's Day. I've stamped it here on a kraft ticket. Lily Bee's new ABC Stickers are an amazing size for tags and cards. It couldn't be easier to create your own sentiments with matching colors.

Lily Bee Supplies:

Have fun taking your supplies beyond the page and create an extra special gift for Mom or someone else you love.

Happy Mother's Day,
