Blessings Abound

>> Saturday, October 23, 2010

This is the time of year when we traditionally count our blessings. At our home we recently celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving and before long, the American Thanksgiving will be here as well. Such a wonderful occasion and time to give thanks.

It's always good to remember that blessings abound year round as well. I believe in cultivating an attitude of gratitude and find quite a bit of that in scrapbooking. We chronicle those special moments, people and events in our lives.

I adore the new Lily Bee Catching Fall line. So beautiful and so flexible you can use it for projects that aren't fall-themed as well. One of my favorite papers to play around with is Cider, the text paper.

By die cutting flowers from the text print, it creates a fun tone on tone look. The edges of each of the flowers was sponged with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to define them.

By lining up the text and placing the flowers directly over the matching text, you get a really interesting look of the flowers coming out of the paper and a continuity to the print.

Adding beautiful chipboard pieces to the center of each flower is a quick and easy way to add more depth and interest.

Whether you're counting your blessings for Thanksgiving or throughout the year, scrapping your fall photos or your daily life, Catching Fall is a warm and wonderful line to create with!

Woooow... That is just gooooooorgeous! (And those are my fave papers, right now. I had to actually put them away for a while, because I just could NOT stop using them! *grins*)

That is so cool the way you've done the flowers over text. So cool!
