Making the Most of It

One of the things that I believe scrapbooking teaches is to make the most of those every day things. Each moment is worth treasuring.

While school may be in in many places, here in Ontario we have another twelve days before school starts. We're still making the most of summer and all the wonderful things that come with it.

The same thought holds true with scrapbooking supplies. I loved to hoard every last scrap of my favorite papers and embellishments and make the most of each piece. But how do you create a layout with all these little pieces?

One way I like to do this is by piecing together my papers for a fun quilted effect. You can layer them on your layout randomly or adhere them all to a scrap piece of cardstock. This works great especially if you plan to stitch them all together. The smaller area will turn in the sewing machine with less bending.

Did you notice I've combined papers from both the Lily Bee Hello Sunshine and the Lovely lines? I love their continuity of style and how combining them gives a fun color pop.

Enjoy your day and don't forget to make the most of it!
