</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">In the layout I'm sharing today, I wanted to highlight a very special friendship I have with a woman I truly consider to be my sister. No, we're not blood sisters, but we are certainly as close as sister's might expect to be.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />

</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I love that good friends walk together through life. And since I used a gridded paper for the background, I was able to easily write my about our 'walk' together directly on the background paper.</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYkBVI8Rfw_JapaP-KRXaFMMD_dfAIoVMiQNOgt7N__-fpXtqtGno6n5mDZqGGUzi4JyAsA0belTlfsZIkv8k3opc7hMVq6G2y99tRlGmdgqrXtCunRnJ1TLNKYQOoAuLMuMeS_TR46vA/s1600/UrsulaSchneider_TrueFriendship_4-Detail-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="280" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYkBVI8Rfw_JapaP-KRXaFMMD_dfAIoVMiQNOgt7N__-fpXtqtGno6n5mDZqGGUzi4JyAsA0belTlfsZIkv8k3opc7hMVq6G2y99tRlGmdgqrXtCunRnJ1TLNKYQOoAuLMuMeS_TR46vA/s400/UrsulaSchneider_TrueFriendship_4-Detail-3.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I'm a big fan of having tabs that stick up above the top edge of my page. They look great, add a little unexpected dimension and still fit nicely inside my albums. Here, I used the Victoria Park Journal Cards to add the effect of tabs.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwuxDrrnAOoE39QmlUgqpNsYxJrCGuT9IA4C5hwQlKtwnGCZpt4i3wrTAhq5rtPPnHcFDjKcga4E0-HuEserN-pL7DSrNhxfpgHKoxN9fO7GbZ1KYyBp0_6qYXOGqbUifgjt6BezvlWn4/s1600/UrsulaSchneider_TrueFriendship_4-Detail-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwuxDrrnAOoE39QmlUgqpNsYxJrCGuT9IA4C5hwQlKtwnGCZpt4i3wrTAhq5rtPPnHcFDjKcga4E0-HuEserN-pL7DSrNhxfpgHKoxN9fO7GbZ1KYyBp0_6qYXOGqbUifgjt6BezvlWn4/s400/UrsulaSchneider_TrueFriendship_4-Detail-2.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">I love using the 6x6 pads to create my own embellishments. For the flower below, I simply punched a couple of shapes out of the small-scale patterned papers and added a brad.</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8DtJMs30MJGVdyFmsdMhVEozC-o7N9QcZDcrR2LGrKQFeJ7k6WJVYQLxPeArAQcpCJb8XaBTLicBkiGgGv5LPB9UqM7uevN8zXhsTSx4zgmbzpdfTyBuRiC77C2yezLTjgPHT83eyJGM/s1600/UrsulaSchneider_TrueFriendship_4-Detail-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><img border="0" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8DtJMs30MJGVdyFmsdMhVEozC-o7N9QcZDcrR2LGrKQFeJ7k6WJVYQLxPeArAQcpCJb8XaBTLicBkiGgGv5LPB9UqM7uevN8zXhsTSx4zgmbzpdfTyBuRiC77C2yezLTjgPHT83eyJGM/s400/UrsulaSchneider_TrueFriendship_4-Detail-1.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Overall, you'll see there are a lot of details added to the page but it still retains the feeling of having white space to allow the eye to rest. Hi, everyone, <a href="http://roebuck-adventures.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Patricia</a> here to share a birthday banner with you. With just pattern paper, twine, some adhesive, and a die cutting machine or punches, it really is easy to make your own banner. What is really best about making your own banner, is you get to pick your colors.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7223/7401549882_b181548e71.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="212" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7223/7401549882_b181548e71.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My daughter's birthday party theme is rainbow, so I knew I wanted bright colors. This banner was quick to put together because I kept it simple, using lots of repeating pattern papers. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7072/7401551574_cd5c1bd879.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7072/7401551574_cd5c1bd879.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used the Silhouette, and stayed with one color for the circles with the cut out letters.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7222/7401550130_8c4c77b7bb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7222/7401550130_8c4c77b7bb.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then backed those green circles with another circle using a simple contrasting pattern paper in yellow. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7217/7401930020_f9b3e6fe83.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7217/7401930020_f9b3e6fe83.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the circles with the cut out hearts, I did the same thing, except instead of the green polka dot paper, I chose the pink polka dots, and repeated those throughout the banner.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5349/7401551138_3aa113e387.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5349/7401551138_3aa113e387.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I made the blue folded flowers using a border punch and a score board. Then layered a scalloped orange polka dot circle right on top. The pink polka dot hearts were attached with foam adhesive. I kept the banner light because it is so long. And then the last thing to do...attaching each piece with a piece of twine.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7085/7401930628_d47de98c75.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7085/7401930628_d47de98c75.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: center;">
Lily Bee Supplies:</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px; text-align: center;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: center;">

<br />
It's a bright, happy summer day here, and even though a vacation isn't in the plans for me just yet, I'm having fun reliving past trips by scrapping some of my neglected travel photos.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/scrappyjedi/7339727030/" title="DSC_6135.jpg by scrappyJedi, on Flickr"><img alt="DSC_6135.jpg" height="500" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7243/7339727030_15c850d36e.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
This layout documents part of a trip my husband and I took to Aruba early last year. I just loved bright, colors of many of the buildings we passed by, so I took a cue from my photos and pulled together a beach-y color palette using Lily Bee's Buttercup collection, with just a bit of Handmade thrown in to add a little pink. The Mushroom Stationery (also from Buttercup) completes the look by giving the page a subtle worn look reminiscent of the peeling paint found on nearly any building that's near the ocean.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/scrappyjedi/7154530941/" title="DSC_6128.jpg by scrappyJedi, on Flickr"><img alt="DSC_6128.jpg" height="333" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7240/7154530941_db657cd702.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/scrappyjedi/7339735234/" title="DSC_6129.jpg by scrappyJedi, on Flickr"><img alt="DSC_6129.jpg" height="333" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7099/7339735234_ce06b33a8e.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/scrappyjedi/7154531495/" title="DSC_6130.jpg by scrappyJedi, on Flickr"><img alt="DSC_6130.jpg" height="333" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8022/7154531495_d26198afdd.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br />
What about you guys? Is anyone else itching to pull out vacation photos and scrap them? <br />

It's happy and fun just like my youngest who recently had his 7th birthday. I knew a bright and busy look was want I wanted for a birthday page to record this event but how to go about it and still keep it under control had me perplexed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAhQHtpfKZtnwjNOCHEIh7iikEUwfzS96lH1TqwpxpUbMtVQIk1tfiF5Sy1kYTnp7xOBcTl3F9xuO8Ou8deC8S7szdAbpC16biEqBMCdss8cI3IGRMNMMDEm0nlhI8gvfUy9fC1mc7Y-ZR/s1600/make-a-wish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhAhQHtpfKZtnwjNOCHEIh7iikEUwfzS96lH1TqwpxpUbMtVQIk1tfiF5Sy1kYTnp7xOBcTl3F9xuO8Ou8deC8S7szdAbpC16biEqBMCdss8cI3IGRMNMMDEm0nlhI8gvfUy9fC1mc7Y-ZR/s320/make-a-wish.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Enter the simple circle punch. Circle punches are simple timeless tools that never go out of style and every papercrafter should own a few. By punching all my papers with the same punch, the repetition provides unity in the design and even better, there was no measuring and cutting involved.<br />

<br />
I've used the beautiful Double Dutch line for this layout. I love how the gingham adds such a summery look and it's perfect for boys as well as girls.<br />

The Double Dutch Index Journaling Cards are great for journaling but they are also perfect for matting photos with.<br />

Mini pinwheels make a sweet childhood accent on a page. I've created mine out of 2.5" squares of Double Dutch patterned paper.<br />

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to be here at Lily Bee Design and working with Kristen and the rest of the fantastic Design Team!!<br />
<br />
Here's a little about me:<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #060504; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: x-small; line-height: 19px;"><i>I was introduced to scrapping in 2004, like many scrappers, from an in-home party. But I didn't scrap with real consistency until 2008, once my kids were a bit older and out of their infancy stages. :) As a graphic designer by profession, this hobby has brought me back to the fundamental reasons why I fell in love with design in the first place : paper, color, letter form and layout. My style has of course evolved from those early days. Now I would definitely say that I have a fun, cheerful, colorful and whimsical style. I LOVE to layer pattern, color and texture (especially with buttons, ribbon and sewing). I think it's safe to say that I love to embellish on my work. :) I currently design for American Crafts, October Afternoon, and am a Garden Girl for Two Peas in a Bucket. I've been fortunate to have had my work published in several publications including Creating Keepsakes, Scrapbook Trends, CARDS, Paper Crafts as well as Scrapbooks and Cards Today. I am from the beautiful state of Washington, but I currently live in a small town in Connecticut with my awesome husband of 12 years, our daughter, who is nearly 10 and our son who is turning six in just a couple weeks. I am super excited to be here at Lily Bee Design! :D</i></span><br />
<br />
Kristen and I have been working hard the last couple weeks to put together lots of new and exciting ideas that we will begin to debut here on the blog within the next couple weeks. We are super excited and hope you will be too, so stay tuned for that!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3WCAhoqTonV0Dk6wIMllWfWuPJejqP9FV2GmvAvjDXpWWZmCz-LcPRyl-RvvISytex9zHi2Ze-5PifXWEUdCqSs9G4Fh22QycEpg7FL8o6cAIQymfgLbKXgdNLpIb02ebRIdwLNejJDed/s1600/LB_IKeepThinking_600_AH.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3WCAhoqTonV0Dk6wIMllWfWuPJejqP9FV2GmvAvjDXpWWZmCz-LcPRyl-RvvISytex9zHi2Ze-5PifXWEUdCqSs9G4Fh22QycEpg7FL8o6cAIQymfgLbKXgdNLpIb02ebRIdwLNejJDed/s1600/LB_IKeepThinking_600_AH.jpg" /></a></div>
On another note, I thought I would share a layout today using LOTS of pieces from Lily Bee Design's most recent product collections, Victoria Park, Handmade, Buttercup, and Double Dutch. I peeled out all of the greens and yellows from the collections to play up the colors in these fun photos of my darling daughter that shows her swinging on her swing set . She's almost 10, leaving elementary school in just a few short days, entering intermediate school in the fall, and "I keep thinking (to myself) it won't be long before...." she won't want to swing on her little swing any more. So, I try to capture as many of these sweet everyday moments as I can, so I can hold on to time a little longer. Time just seems to be passing too quickly, and I'm not altogether ready for it!<br />

Throw in a few lazy mornings watching cartoons, s'mores around the campfire, and sunset viewing from the front porch and it's easy to see that so far, summer has been a pretty darn happy season.<br />
<br />
It was that notion that led me to create the page I'm sharing today. It serves as a little reminder that these events shouldn't just be saved for summer vacation - every day is a great occasion to seek out happiness!<br />

The <a href="http://www.lilybeedesign.com/paper/35.html" target="_blank"><b>Handmade </b></a>patterned papers add the bulk of the color on this page. The hexagon die-cut is backed with pieces from the Handmade paper, <a href="https://www.huntcal.com/ecom/show/lily?id=326" target="_blank"><b>Patchwork</b></a>. By placing them behind the white die-cut borders, they add a lot of punch without overwhelming the design. This is also a great use for some of those paper scraps!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The title is simple and bold, and clearly communicates the message of my page. It was also die-cut from white cardstock with the word "Happy" cut from the Handmade <a href="https://www.huntcal.com/ecom/show/lily?id=331" target="_blank"><b>Sky Blue</b></a> paper.<br />

Today I have a layout for you where I mixed 4 different colored gingham patterned papers in 2 sizes, yup I went a little gaga with gingham.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I used 2 standard prints from Double Dutch with 2 smaller ones from the Double Dutch 6x6 Tiny Tablet. It sometimes takes creative positioning when working with 6x6 pads of paper but the smaller prints are a nice contrast to the larger ones. </div>

I actually found the idea to try this on a card from a printing website called <i>Tiny Prints</i> where you can create announcements with photos. If you are stuck for a design, these are great places to look for inspiration!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIn9nS3om_Cr4VhOKCoX5AuOHrbA0qex_BWYyQIXa2H3-Cn6chQbP2emcKT3RwJJvQ_-hSl-EVQWuajMUSn5p55AEwDeCJBDSnruIkCrhTJ8OOoQmnAe3So2g7iEhxzhM4tEfg7E2qpNyk/s1600/red+confetti+card+550px2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIn9nS3om_Cr4VhOKCoX5AuOHrbA0qex_BWYyQIXa2H3-Cn6chQbP2emcKT3RwJJvQ_-hSl-EVQWuajMUSn5p55AEwDeCJBDSnruIkCrhTJ8OOoQmnAe3So2g7iEhxzhM4tEfg7E2qpNyk/s1600/red+confetti+card+550px2.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
I looked through the Lily Bee papers and pulled out some various prints in reds and pinks and began punching different sizes with my circle punches. I added red cardstock circles to the top first for a dark contrast at the top, and then began layering more circles by degree of color saturation down the card, getting lighter and lighter in color as I worked my way to the bottom.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizEzmbsK0l5nJYZLQq4K562e7Z7yivChZMWR0CAfP8FDAYqxx4iFIbX3Q9mHSytuwWI09xjQHqbekr3EH_iXjQOh6CCj8fHX8Cq16Z2l4NHbVZ1UAC9GCW-lAfR45Ey_kpqL2oF_qUIdEz/s1600/red+confetti+card+-closeup1small.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizEzmbsK0l5nJYZLQq4K562e7Z7yivChZMWR0CAfP8FDAYqxx4iFIbX3Q9mHSytuwWI09xjQHqbekr3EH_iXjQOh6CCj8fHX8Cq16Z2l4NHbVZ1UAC9GCW-lAfR45Ey_kpqL2oF_qUIdEz/s1600/red+confetti+card+-closeup1small.jpg" /></a></div>
You could make a set of these in all different colors, and they would work for birthdays, thank yous, congratulations, etc. I like how the chevron circles look like little streamers on the green and blue card!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdhr61S_7NxHpqragHw2JpXgI1gs7dZRCE2r2LdlAyu-zK12z6p1EXwq02eWVl-rfIiehdofWyEYxZhRzFbxxxvmrhHXkfg7HC6DFABFi1BGVei9Pn1oOBTfR34O05XxBqAOR2Xum_satL/s1600/blue+and+green+card3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjdhr61S_7NxHpqragHw2JpXgI1gs7dZRCE2r2LdlAyu-zK12z6p1EXwq02eWVl-rfIiehdofWyEYxZhRzFbxxxvmrhHXkfg7HC6DFABFi1BGVei9Pn1oOBTfR34O05XxBqAOR2Xum_satL/s1600/blue+and+green+card3.jpg" /></a></div>
To finish the card, the word "happy" was die cut out of Lily Bee's Handmade patterned paper with my Cuttlebug machine, then I stamped "today" over the die cut with the Double Dutch clear stamps.<br />
<br />
Give the confetti look a try on your next card, it's an easy design to put together for a last minute card that you might need! <br />

Kristen here and I'm excited to share with you the sketch I created for June. I hate to admit it but I can't tell you how long it's been since I scrapped. I'm glad I had the chance to put this together today for the blog. Here's the June Sketch:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsGTNHAucxhvxBs9wOX3gTyd0efj8uHwSyr7jcVqRWWOjuHQvmgMEva_vFTGoj49X0N_2QUdft0OJ9prV_lIEc0xjNUdpC8EqWmQ4rWEAUZSO8PGR16ZH7T6d9-pVJnxL8Ubh-NXyWNuI/s1600/June+Sketch.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsGTNHAucxhvxBs9wOX3gTyd0efj8uHwSyr7jcVqRWWOjuHQvmgMEva_vFTGoj49X0N_2QUdft0OJ9prV_lIEc0xjNUdpC8EqWmQ4rWEAUZSO8PGR16ZH7T6d9-pVJnxL8Ubh-NXyWNuI/s400/June+Sketch.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750775384762089442" border="0" /></a><br />I'm a simple and clean scrapper and wanted to focus on the pictures. Here's my layout based on the sketch I created:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSIrUOJEhltFee7JbuQibfAFVOH5h-1nHDf-vX43QELR_aKuQz11LE2_fSoy-O4HIwVQOCYDSl84NundEF2GOwWU_AHvEuhmW4hEWeBnia6U2U_0Ek3witgD74pk6aQ8BIuk5SUfqWyn4/s1600/Noah+%2526+Mrs.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSIrUOJEhltFee7JbuQibfAFVOH5h-1nHDf-vX43QELR_aKuQz11LE2_fSoy-O4HIwVQOCYDSl84NundEF2GOwWU_AHvEuhmW4hEWeBnia6U2U_0Ek3witgD74pk6aQ8BIuk5SUfqWyn4/s400/Noah+%2526+Mrs.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5750772539023178386" border="0" /></a><br />I can't believe my little Noah just finished up Kindergarten. I don't know where the time has gone. I remember his teacher prying him from his Dad on the first day of school because he didn't want to go. Now, he's growing up and so excited to start first grade so he can eat in the lunch room.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:85%;">Lily Bee Supplies:<br />Patterned Paper: Double Dutch Hopscotch & Sand<br />ABC Stickers: Double Dutch<br />Bag of Bits:Double Dutch<br />Journal Cards: Double Dutch</span><br /></div><br />I know the summer's are busy but I hope you'll take a few minutes this month and join us for the June Sketch Challenge.<br /><br /><span style=" ;font-family:inherit;font-size:small;" ><span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"></span></span></span><span style="line-height: 19px; font-family: georgia;font-family:Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif;color:#4c4c4c;" ><div style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:georgia;"><span style="font-size:small;"><span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="font-size:130%;">Here are the rules to keep in mind:</span></span></span></span></div><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style=" font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> </span></span><div style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px; text-align: left; font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);font-family:georgia;"> <span style="font-size:small;"><span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;"><span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">1. Hello Lily Bee fans! <a href="http://roebuck-adventures.blogspot.com/">Patricia</a> here, and I am so excited to be here today to share my layout with you. My daughter is every bit a "Daddy's Girl," and this picture from our recent beach trip just captured the love between these two, even though it is an iPhone photo.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKqS3Fe6y3ye30RWJuxE6e0cvqZEpl9kaiMQy0egg-3nR_DWLwYQKyhVd6wfGVxUS3GNq9Ps8vw47FgIibJqdbCuO54dSahVINKTuXXGkEBiKiKjBG9zgBadxcwlg_xmqlLTGQopDkh15m/s1600/The-Best-Dadweb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKqS3Fe6y3ye30RWJuxE6e0cvqZEpl9kaiMQy0egg-3nR_DWLwYQKyhVd6wfGVxUS3GNq9Ps8vw47FgIibJqdbCuO54dSahVINKTuXXGkEBiKiKjBG9zgBadxcwlg_xmqlLTGQopDkh15m/s400/The-Best-Dadweb.jpg" width="395" /></a></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: small;">I wanted to create a fun, playful, and carefree layout about this special relationship. I used the blue and green pattern papers with accents of red and tan. The little touch of girliness in the fuchsia bow is just enough to pull out the pink my daughter is wearing. </span></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: small;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<span style="letter-spacing: 0px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: small;">I used the Silhouette to cut out these tags at the top, as well as the tiny circles to give them a finished look. I framed the photo with a cluster of stickers and a heart from the bag of bits. </span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9pkv41Zado_0-byFOahkHmhv3jouKO_D5OdHPAc59qixHvcHkJlBwaki-QB7IceNiiryVu2SnRTEm6uc9YjsFkCOqIM6f6lMpXD9aMaAAZ2swKZvBqw4jFammjKh9MenKn6cRCozTgkoK/s1600/IMG_7484web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9pkv41Zado_0-byFOahkHmhv3jouKO_D5OdHPAc59qixHvcHkJlBwaki-QB7IceNiiryVu2SnRTEm6uc9YjsFkCOqIM6f6lMpXD9aMaAAZ2swKZvBqw4jFammjKh9MenKn6cRCozTgkoK/s400/IMG_7484web.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;">I also wanted to have a list of why my daughter loves her Dad. So after trimming off a piece of twine, not sure exactly how I was going to attach these numbered flags I cut with the Silhouette, I liked the look of it flowing loosely across the page. So I decided to add more banner stickers to the twine. The "You Make Me Happy" sticker I cut it apart before attaching. For some added interest and dimension, "Happy Happy Joy Joy" sticker was attached with foam adhesive; the butterfly, I backed with pattern paper, so I could fold and attach with glue on the crease.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIjEtBrPP8OnoF3x8CjelSEla8pCpU8kaojQhUBVMQRoWOMRwcI1upTFBSdRKAO74moy93Xu2EbMULm4Mwv5QmJMx8OCF1dRDOrKHU7GrfseyA14ckHVnkNI0Ad24PqtTWodqyJdeiGur/s1600/IMG_7483web.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgiIjEtBrPP8OnoF3x8CjelSEla8pCpU8kaojQhUBVMQRoWOMRwcI1upTFBSdRKAO74moy93Xu2EbMULm4Mwv5QmJMx8OCF1dRDOrKHU7GrfseyA14ckHVnkNI0Ad24PqtTWodqyJdeiGur/s400/IMG_7483web.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Times, 'Times New Roman', serif;"> I masked and misted just one section at the bottom with hearts I cut with the Silhouette, then used foam adhesive to attach the cut out hearts to create a border and a little more softness. For the list, I asked my daughter why she loves her Dad (she's 3 1/2 almost 4), and I wrote exactly what she told me. She was so excited to give me this list. She has now been asking me why I love her...so sweet. I used the numbers from the Double Dutch stamps, they were perfect for making this list at the bottom. For the journaling, I wrote on top of an index journaling card, then cut it into strips to adhere where I wanted them. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I adore Jen's work and was excited to see what she created with Lily Bee products. Let's find out a little bit more about her:<br /><br />Jen lives in Central Illinois with her husband, Brad, and their two daughters, Ayla & Nora. She works full-time as a high school secretary, so finding time to scrapbook can be a challenge, but thankfully, she's got a great husband who loves to spend quality time with his girls. Jen has been fortunate to have had some great opportunities in the scrapbooking industry. Her work has been published and featured in Creating Keepsakes, BHG Scrapbooks Etc., Scrapbook Trends, Scrapbook and Cards Today, Ella E-Books,and many others. She is a former member of the Creating Keepsakes Dream Team and is currently a Garden Girl at Two Peas in a Bucket and on the design team for Studio Calico. You can read more about her over at her <a href="http://www.jenjockisch.com">BLOG</a><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCvXgEtnLn9FXXNdhERaec_fqGUSSgfdVYh1YkbL_ieHR2g4hGVVZhnm7H4w6JG_RhUcnKvWWLxm-m4kSRkthyphenhyphenuzW5vo0EdHgFUlv7pBebumf_YCWaAUfuZ5HISNobBtVsbcHmB1motnk/s1600/kellyheadshot.jpg"><img style="display:block; text-align: left;">
Hi everyone, Kim here to share a new layout with you! I love using little journal cards and bits and pieces of paper to create my layouts. These little cards from the Victoria park and Handmade collections are just right for layering and creating a collage. They have some really great little designs on them as well. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnMCZ5f_XY-DXcHnFK0JnCMLIZokCPP1IyRlxUnDr80yBrTeaqulgPMRamaH4tvKT_qG6vFLQe0WQjQv-Yx8CJSg8P93aaqdLd2F5xqw0SRDUmqXcKZXG5bEMduj5zXO2uYpUtddSnkV7N/s1600/lilibee-meandyoulayout.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnMCZ5f_XY-DXcHnFK0JnCMLIZokCPP1IyRlxUnDr80yBrTeaqulgPMRamaH4tvKT_qG6vFLQe0WQjQv-Yx8CJSg8P93aaqdLd2F5xqw0SRDUmqXcKZXG5bEMduj5zXO2uYpUtddSnkV7N/s400/lilibee-meandyoulayout.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For this layout I chose to combine some of the cards with Green elements on them since green is a close runner up to being my favorite color! They are also a nice way to add a bit of a graphic element to your layout.
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another element I wanted to add to my layout was a hand painted banner. I first cut my watercolor paper into different sized strips and then painted each one a different ombre shade of green to greenish blue and pink. I snipped the ends to create little banners and then sewed them together using ordinary sewing thread. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiGcnPDeAE92FTeoZ_SCPE_oxBUl5DbJUs70nmh_RPWV787VLRcxREErcX3FNENsVo90d8Ci8dkc5q99mcXamNu_zNWtDrpyfEkGG_LzZ9DvplFL1fUJws3ul2EszFWaISfoMLoWFLbN-5/s1600/lilibee-meandyou-layout2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhiGcnPDeAE92FTeoZ_SCPE_oxBUl5DbJUs70nmh_RPWV787VLRcxREErcX3FNENsVo90d8Ci8dkc5q99mcXamNu_zNWtDrpyfEkGG_LzZ9DvplFL1fUJws3ul2EszFWaISfoMLoWFLbN-5/s640/lilibee-meandyou-layout2.jpg" width="412" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I love the layered and messy effect of the sewn banner. To add a little more interest I backed a few of the banners with different pieces of patterned paper. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwEIt1nDl8e9GZ7NMKdy4JmzToLmWT6qhQRoD0JTFcNatWyrsUQX629e1lJ9gvcQBx_3-OrjRrZi0FHJbW1-OPpktYZsXA_G6dcCKEnOue5SQlJcCMuWmrLanueRlRtQJf0fTnW8HYnfj7/s1600/lilibee-meandyout3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="396" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwEIt1nDl8e9GZ7NMKdy4JmzToLmWT6qhQRoD0JTFcNatWyrsUQX629e1lJ9gvcQBx_3-OrjRrZi0FHJbW1-OPpktYZsXA_G6dcCKEnOue5SQlJcCMuWmrLanueRlRtQJf0fTnW8HYnfj7/s400/lilibee-meandyout3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is a very simple way to create a layout with just a few elements. Thanks for stopping by today for a little inspiration! Have a great week everyone!</div>

Of course, it's not because I don't want to, but one can only afford so many $25+ plates in a given year before the bankers come calling. At least that is the reality for our family.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Given that, when I do get the opportunity, I want it to be memorable. That involves things like planning the right place and the right time and the right occasions. I can do that is to take extra care with my appearance and preparations. But all of that will still allow the memory to fade.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">Photos, however, will help keep it alive. A well photographed location or plate of food can evoke so many things in people. Why do you think they spend so much on marketing photos for all the major restaurant chains? Because it evokes a certain 'something' when you see a mouth-wateringly juicy burger topped with the freshest, greenest lettuce and the ripest, reddest tomatoes and veritably dripping with secret sauce!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">With all of that in mind, I decided to take out the big guns when my husband and I recently visited a local restaurant for our 20th anniversary. I brought my big ole Canon DSLR to dinner with me and took time to shoot the food as soon as it arrived at our table.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I admit, I was a little embarrassed to do it, but the waitress even came by on one of my shooting occasions and gave me a thumbs up for being brave enough. 'Yeah!' I thought, 'I'm not so weird after all am I?!' Well, maybe I am, but I did get some great shots and we'll not soon forget this occasion of Eating Well!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRv8eRnk-e4rFTLd9H3r703tV4d22vMMhCyB7mUEBpRH59ECjD6wrA2dPlXesdVovWbO8v91bjccdE6mKl87C9oGRr-FAqmoNp_Utds7sMBqq8Njy7Pq4vEcRbqFnfLRm7XY7SiXmIlCA/s1600/UrsulaSchneider_EatWell_LO.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRv8eRnk-e4rFTLd9H3r703tV4d22vMMhCyB7mUEBpRH59ECjD6wrA2dPlXesdVovWbO8v91bjccdE6mKl87C9oGRr-FAqmoNp_Utds7sMBqq8Njy7Pq4vEcRbqFnfLRm7XY7SiXmIlCA/s400/UrsulaSchneider_EatWell_LO.jpg" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;">The rich, warm colors of my photos led me to the <a href="http://www.lilybeedesign.com/paper/36.html" target="_blank">Buttercup Collection</a>. That yellow damask pattern seemed the perfect compliment to our fine dining adventures and helped bring out the warm tones in my photos.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I also played with the round frame stamp from the <a href="http://www.lilybeedesign.com/paper/35.html" target="_blank">Handmade collection</a> to add a little extra color and texture.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;">I dug out my turquoise and grey washi tapes which blend so beautifully with the colors of Buttercup and created a bit of extra texture behind the bank of photos on the right side of the page. The mini cardstock alphas make perfect photo captions.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: inherit;">And I couldn't resist creating another brad from the cardstock stickers and my Epiphany Crafts tool.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: inherit;"><br /></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-2ll4cw8wBMCHzoX7jXgSuCecpR-A0Vho18iaVKgj7XWn-t2VDNBqvfxPgcngc9Qd1w6gO4QoR0iBWhoBZUsCsoyduhGluXdGoJLcKoJ6z2WjjgEYhX71yzddqAI_mVbDutXC-o4TiVD9/s1600/you+card2-small.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-2ll4cw8wBMCHzoX7jXgSuCecpR-A0Vho18iaVKgj7XWn-t2VDNBqvfxPgcngc9Qd1w6gO4QoR0iBWhoBZUsCsoyduhGluXdGoJLcKoJ6z2WjjgEYhX71yzddqAI_mVbDutXC-o4TiVD9/s1600/you+card2-small.jpg" /></a></div>
I loved the patterns in the cute Buttercup banner stickers, so I wanted to add them to a card. Small shapes are a great way to add many different patterns, colors and interest, and the triangles make it so easy because they are already cut out for you! I was inspired by how they came on the sticker sheet and transferred them right to the card just how they were on the sticker sheet.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
A Victoria Park floral stamp was stamped in aqua ink on the top and bottom to frame out the sentiment and add some softness.<br />

Here is one more where I used the banner stickers horizontally to create a border.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8oPJwdRVuPEstPXWdFTH5MH1uDvFFP5iL_vHlRxYer59h15wW7UUrTcI_EHTtKzGWOQs-sxHiz3TNMgNU6MpRQQnHPNt4BBZuWKhGm6td-cVPYvG69DALutadZdioxfwNjK1yAEA6bR2V/s1600/card2small.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh8oPJwdRVuPEstPXWdFTH5MH1uDvFFP5iL_vHlRxYer59h15wW7UUrTcI_EHTtKzGWOQs-sxHiz3TNMgNU6MpRQQnHPNt4BBZuWKhGm6td-cVPYvG69DALutadZdioxfwNjK1yAEA6bR2V/s1600/card2small.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I used the Buttercup stickers on these two cards also. A frame is cut in half and added it to the top and bottom of the "today is a good day" sticker.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This is a super quick and easy embellishment idea for a card/ layout. Thank you for visiting the blog today. Have a creative day!<br />
