Friday Faves

>> Friday, February 26, 2010

Welcome to another edition of Friday Faves. There are so many AMAZING layouts and projects in the gallery, right now. Thank you for supporting Lily Bee and showing your love for our products.

Michelle Lanning shared this wonderful Vintage Poppy layout of her daughter smiling and being silly for the camera. I couldn't help but smile at that adorable photo. I love the flower made from our die cut, the rub-on surrounding it and the bow detail. Perfection!

Susan Dupre created this Dreamy layout using our French Couture Collection. The photo is immediately eye-catching and the title suits it perfectly. The subtle details give the layout a soft vintage, dreamy feel. The result is a very striking layout!

Debora Prass shared with us this stunning layout called "Women in our Family" using our French Couture Collection. There are so many details to take in. I love the die cut use all over the layout and especially at the top of the page. The hand made flower is wonderful, as are the hand cut flowers popping off the page.

We want to remind you of the fast approaching deadline for the Design Team Call. You still have the weekend to get those applications in. We looking forward to seeing your work. Good luck!

Hello Sunshine love...mini-style.

>> Wednesday, February 17, 2010

hey everyone...Nicole here, sharing my love for a few things.

  • the Hello Sunshine line, which i cannot stop raving about, lol.
  • a quick mini album
  • my 2 favorite people in the world...my husband and daughter.

i started with a few favorite photos of the two of them...3 wallet sized photos. for the cover, i used the Blueberry Pie graph paper (how could i not?!)...spritzed with a bit of red Maya Mist. then i applied a rub-on from the Hello Sunshine 12x12 rub-on sheet, and used my adhesive eraser to distress the rub-on a bit. added a label sticker to house the initials of my two sweeties and plopped 2 buttons in between those.

i left the inside cover unpapered...just rubbed abit of blue paint onto it and then journaled right onto the chipboard. the 2 butterflies would are punched from the Twirl and Savannah papers. on the right side, you see one of the photos...i used a frame stamp on the paper that came with the mini album, and then used my Xacto knife to remove the center. i adhered the photo behind the lined paper, lining it up how i liked, and then added more Hello Sunshine to cover the back, as you'll see in the next photo.

see that Posies paper on the left side in the photo below?? that's actually the back of the photo in the above picture...a fun way to double your space, rught?!

i just drew some lines to journal a few thoughts about the two of them on each patterned paper...this Savannah paper just makes me happy with the bits of yellow on red!

for the back of the book, i repeated the graph paper and added another rub-on from that 12x12 sheet...again using my adhesive eraser to rough it up a bit.

decided to paint the border of the stamped image in with some red paint and one of my fave paint brushes that has like, 3 hairs on it, lol.

and there you have it!!

quick projects like these are fun to make...i got to play around with supplies, document a few thoughts running around in my head and when you're finished it feels great to see it all done!

i added a few more details on my own blog as far as the how-to process...so feel free to check it out (the link is on the right hand side up there). if you have any questions, please ask away...i'm happy to share any tidbits with my fellow Lily Bee lovers!!
enjoy your week...hope it's full of SUNSHINE!!
:)

Friday Faves

>> Friday, February 12, 2010

Happy Friday! We have another great edition of Friday Faves for you this week. There has been a lot of activity in the gallery, and that means there is a ton of inspiration in there and we hope you'll drop in and take a look.

This card immediately caught my eye. These little flowers are all the rage, right now, and they really do make everything pop right off the screen. I love them. Amy Heller created this stunning card. Wouldn't you love to get this for Valentine's Day? I would!

Another gorgeous card in our gallery was posted by Rimna. That pocket is amazing and I love the heavy distressing. It has a nice vintage feel to it and is, overall, just lovely.

I love this beautiful Thanksgiving layout by Melanie Blackburn. The Audrey Collection is the perfect choice for this Fall layout. The button details really bring the eye right to the fun photos of her daughter and husband running. This one just makes me smile!

Thank you for continuing to share your work with us. We hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Be sure to come back on Monday. We have a fun contest announcement to share with you.

A Lovely Bride

>> Wednesday, February 3, 2010

I love this picture of my Mom getting ready for her wedding. She looks so happy and you can see in her eyes the excitement and joy she is feeling. She always told me that her big dream in life was to be married and have children. I have always wondered what she really wanted. Did she want to dance, sing, have a career? She has never admitted anything different, but I often wonder.

This layout uses the gorgeous Lovely Collection and our wonderful tulle flowers.

My journaling says:
I have often wondered what you dreamed of being when you were young. Do you have any regrets? Would you go back and change anything? I have always assumed that the big dream was to be married and raise children because you told me so, but still, I wonder.

If you have any Lily Bee projects, be sure to upload them to our gallery, so we can take a look before our Friday Faves.

Lily Bee a Scrapbook Update Top 10 Pick at CHA

>> Tuesday, February 2, 2010

I am just sooo thrilled! Nancy Nalley over at Scrapbook Update has included Lily Bee in her top 10 Pick at CHA.

Ladies, be sure to ask your LSS to carry our new lines. They will start shipping early March!

9. Lily Bee Design

"Lily Bee Design, a new exhibitor, has been attracting a lot of buzz with its vintage feminine designs. They’ve achieved something that usually seems to be difficult for a new company, by creating embellishment designs that are beautiful and noteworthy. Their chipboard flowers and 12×12 rub-on sheets are worthy accompaniments to the company’s beautiful papers, giving Lily Bee’s lines a depth that many new companies can’t match. These lines’ reasonable size and their quality means that a retailer doesn’t need to cherry-pick them to carry them."

Lily Bee & Scrapbook Update

>> Monday, February 1, 2010

I was so over the moon to see we were chosen as one of May Flaum's Favorite Paper Lines released at CHA. She is part of Scrapbook Update and here's what she had to say:

"Every paper from Lily Bee is on my wish list, along with their new chipboard stickers. It’s a beautiful two line release. I couldn’t stop staring at this particular two-sided paper from the new Lovely line."
